Awesome Warriors
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic1 September 2020
This is the best episode up to this point in Clone Wars.

The episode is terrifically exciting in terms of action with epic lightsaber and force wielding battles. This is pure Star Wars magic and to be honest I am confused how creators of all Star Wars films and series do not realise that if they just put more epic lightsaber/force battles between great, cool characters they automatically lift the appeal. Darth Maul's battle in Phantom Menace doubles that films quality for example.

However, it is not action which is shallow entertainment like a dumb popcorn movie, it has depth and nuanced storytelling behind it with great characters facing off with powerful motivation given by the brilliantly written script.

There is spot on dialogue, dark deeper themes and epic visual action created with impressive animation.

A fabulous episode.

My rating: 10/10.

Witches of the Mist Review

Warning: Spoilers
Witches of the Mist was spectacular! Although I'm not quite sure why it was called that way. The Nightsisters only appeared briefly. But never the less, this was the best episode yet, ever! First the Sith training, then the mission to Toydaria where the most intense moment of the Clone Wars took place: the death of King Katuunko. And then Asajj, failing to kill her master, sitting in a rescue pod, even brought up some sympathy for a Sith. And once more the details were amazing. For example, during the fight between Asajj, Savage and Dooku, you could still see the lifeless body of King Katuunko lying on the floor. And in that same fight, you probably noticed how Savage wasn't nearly as strong as Assaj. One last thing: in my opinion, the mysterious return of Darth Maul wasn't really necessary. For me, he'd better died on Naboo.

Witches of the Mist

A great ending to an arc that has been highly satisfying. If anything, I am happy that I got some more awesome Dooku, plus a lot of great lightsaber battles that all felt like they had emotional weight behind them. Savage Opress is coming across as a tragic character and I love what comes next for him. The writing is great, and I was having a constant smile on my face. Plus, the end revelation proved to be iconic and gave life to all the future installments of "Star Wars" on television in a way nobody could have ever imagined. If anything, the episode may have been a little too fast-paced as a lot of Savage's training seems to be lost in translation. However, if those scenes were cut so that we could get more of the hard-hitting action, then it was worth it.

Great conclusion!

What a great way to wrap up this arc! This episode was really solid! Some great moments between Savage and Dooku! The tigh-in with episode 1 season 1, and great lightsaber-duel! The end of this episode got me super excited first time i watched it! This is where The Clone Wars get GOOD and lays the foundation for one of the best Star Wars stories.

This is where the fun begins!

This episode not only features the best lightsaber duels so far in the entire show but also teases at the survival of Darth Maul, who plays a gigantic role in the future seasons of The Clone Wars. The episode also includes some much needed character development for Ventress, who up until the previous episode had been a mystery. The major disappointment with this 'episode arc' is the lack of clone troopers and Ashoka Tano, who where major parts of season 1 and 2 but have felt absent for the majority of season 3. Savage Opress is introduced in this arc and I had forgotten how menacing he truly was.

To summarise, this episode much like it's predecessor are prime examples of why The Clone Wars captured the hearts of many, with unforgettable lightsaber fights between Dooku, Ventress, Savage, Anikan and Obi Wan.

Considering season 3 has been boring up to this point (filled with politics and meaningless adventures) I can safely say that the show is leaning in the right direction again.
