The Sacramento Artist Corps is a collaborative of three arts organizations (The Latino Center of Art and Culture, Teatro Nagual, and Teatro Espejo) putting artists to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another set of youth will be recruited to replace these correspondents who exit the program after four-to-eight months of training providing news and information critical to Sacramento County's under-served communities.

A Galt tradition, the Winter Bird Festival connects the community to nature and help it grow in the knowledge and love of birding. The festival will have a Youth Art Contest, Bird Drawing Classes, Three Virtual Tours hosted by The Consumes River Preserve, as well as Keynote Speaker: John Muir Laws.

Host Ray Tatar learns how one of Sacramento's most prominent theater companies is managing performances during the COVID pandemic. B Street Theatre's virtual show "Re-Imagine" is a new social justice series that showcases various plays readings, music, dance, poetry, movie screenings and more, created by Black artists and other peoples of color. The vision of "Re-Imagine" is to host theatrical experiences "By Us. For EVERYONE." The co-producer of the project and the company's Associate Artistic Director come on Live Wire to explain how it all works.

Host Ray Tatar learns about Capital Storytelling's upcoming virtual event featuring true stories told live by five different storytellers on the theme "A Different Kind of Love". Capital Storytelling is an organization that seeks to empower individuals by teaching them how to tell their own stories. Founded by Lisa Cantrell, a psychologist and Assistant Professor at Sacramento State, Capital Storytelling provides a space for the community to come together and empathize with one another through the art of storytelling.

Live Wire Host Ray Tatar discusses with the Mills Station Arts and Culture Center's curator about the current photography exhibit "Facing the Inferno," that showcases the photography of Kari Greer, a Sacramento State graduate in photography. Working as a photographer for the National Interagency Fire Center, Greer specializes in wild-land fire photography and editorial photojournalism. The exhibit seeks to encourage more public conversations and a better understanding of wildfires, as well as celebrate firefighters and survivors.

Live Wire Host Ray Tatar talks with Gary Martin, Access Sacramento's Executive Director, who will be retiring April 2, 2021. Gary Martin took the helm of the nonprofit organization Access Sacramento on July 1, 2013. Gary Martin came to Access Sacramento from Cosumnes River College (CRC), where he was the department chair and a professor of radio, TV and film. He had been with CRC since 1993. Before his career as a teacher, Martin worked as a newscast producer at Sacramento's KXTV Channel 10, as a weekend managing editor at KTSP in Phoenix, and as a senior newscast producer at KTVN in Reno and was a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Broadcast Education Association. Prior to Martin becoming Executive Director of Access he was vice chairman of Access Sacramento's board of directors.

Live Wire continues a series of interviews about emergency preparedness in the Sacramento region. Host Ray Tatar interviews Robert Ross, volunteer coordinator for the Sacramento Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Classes for new volunteers are available. Ross explains about the Volunteers' Go Kit contents, about the training and its graduation simulation, and shared a video about the Canine Urban Search and Rescue group. Nearly10,000 CERT volunteer hours help the community annually.

Guests from the Sacramento Fire Department tell their experiences in New York with the clean up and rescue efforts following the terrorist attach on the Sept. 11, 2001 at the Twin Towers, Pentagon and United flight 93. A guest from Cal Expo where the West Coast largest 9/11 memorial park is hosting a somber remembrance. The park features a huge granite sphere inscribed with the names of those killed in the 9/11 attack.

As an annual event, the Live Wire show from Access Sacramento hosts a special extended Holiday Special show with Santa participating. Although the COVID pandemic prevented Santa from interviewing the children of Sacramento in person, he was able to answer their questions virtually. Several craft artists and musical performances were also featured.
