Ignoring any historical innacuracies this introductions starts and ends just like the closing song....everybody wants to rule the world...and this episodes delivers with unexpected delights, sharp wit and superbe acting...fanning delivers a starlight performance and despite my doubts watching the preview this show has me hooked line and sinker 9/10

So much swearing

Shame that every word is the F word. Bad language. The acting is poor and they are just going too Americanised with it all.

Pop culture adequate

This version of the Catherine the Great story is mostly good for the pop-culture fans . It is not historically accurate and it is full of propaganda. The best thing to realize is that as the opening credits mention, this is "an occasionally true story". If anyone expects this to be a historically accurate dramatization, you will be sorely disappointed. I gave this series a rating of 5 simply because it was entertaining at times.
