A fun bit of trash. The animation style fit the goofy tone perfectly. And the idea of a trash monster was fun. Nothing too memorable, but a great little break in pace from all the serious shorts in LD&R.

Good not Great

Reminded me of one of those opening skits before Pixar movies except it's for adults obviously. I gave it 5 stars because the characters were kinda lame and unlikable but it still held my attention and I liked the trash monster.

This one was decent. The voice acting was very good and that's unsurprising considering it was Nolan North. The animation style was also very nice. The story itself wasn't bad at all, not clichéd like some of the other episodes. Just a fun little 10 minutes that was all in all well made

The fair quality of this episode reveals how much imagination we lack in bottom
user-52-2632794 July 2019
Compared with the universe, robots, and the future, we lack passion in the life of bottom. They are somehow even further than the Aquila Rift to us. And beyond this, it is the power of imagination and expression, Our series today refuse to treat the people living in the trash seriously, as they are not part of us. Yet they are.
We cannot simply abandon them like the inspector in the episode, just let them go and don't even care where they would go.
At least, however, this episode has tried to imagined them, though not good enough.
Entertaining enough.

'The Dump (2019)' is just about stylised enough to not look weird, with odd-ball character designs and grimy environments giving it a distinct, 'wouldn't want to live there' look. Its story is entertaining enough, told in flashbacks before crescendoing with a final reveal. It's simple but succinct, sticking around only for as long as it needs to. It is a bit crass and, by extension, immature. It also isn't very funny. Still, it's fairly enjoyable. 6/10

I've decided to review each of the short films that make up this series individually.
Ugly Dave (Nolan North) lives is a dump, and is pretty satisfied with his lot. When an officious zoning official (Gary Cole) comes to the dump to tell Dave that his home is about to be taken for redevelopment, he sits him down to tell him a story.
This is another short little comedy sketch, the plot is fun although not hilariously funny. There are a few nice visual touches in the backgrounds though. Visually it's fine, stylised CGI work that really works with the story.
Fun whilst it lasts.

Yawner. An old guy lives in a trash dump where he, being an outside, makes friends with a dump monster, also an outsider. Been done many many times before, among the similar ideas, from Night Gallery where a girl befriends a plant monster.

Square in the middle of "meh"

A story that shows us the what, but not the why or the how. The art and animation are competent but derivative and pedestrian, and there's no real story or characterisation here. As with all the episodes of this show, it shoves its adults-only rating down your throat with some utterly unnecessary cock and cursing.
It's a shame as the voice talent here is top notch, but it's utterly wasted in telling this small, mean, pointless tale.

One of the better ones

One of the better ones, despite what people say. It may not have anything much to say, though neither does it have any of the pretentiousness or soapy crap present in a lot of the other episodes. It's also devoid of gratuitous sex scenes. So if you're a lonely geek who likes to wack-off to animation, skip this one (and sort your life out), but if you're a fan of 80s cult horror, this will be right up your alley.
What was the point of this short?

If I owned a junkyard I think I might actually be offended by this one. A boring stereotype of hillbillies getting drunk and looking at nudie mags with their male friends. Setting the dog on the tax man included. I'm actually surprised the didn't make any uncle-daddy jokes, but I suppose they only got paid for 9 minutes of this junk.
Frankly this might have had some redeeming "cute factor" if not for the meathhead peen and irrelevant boobie calendar. God what did I even just watch.

Love, Death, and Robots
Episode The Dump (2 out of 5 stars).
This episode is one of the worst. Right next to the yogurt short animation video. The story is boring about some hillbilly living in a dumpster that encounters something in the junk yard. The animation is forgettable. The story is boring. And there is nothing entertaining about it.

In this installment of Love Death + Robots we got a very simple charming little tale about sticking it to the man.
It's a neat premise that was well executed. The characters were crunchy and a bit gross but I kinda liked the main dude. Just a simple guy trying to live his life, doing no harm to anyone and still getting hassled.
I was a huge fan of his dumpster pet/guardian and loved the end scene of it running around like a big puppy. The animation was again very well done and brought a lot of life and character to the dump setting.
I enjoyed the simplicity of this episode as it's definitely not as heavy in themes or tones as some of the previous episodes.
